Welcome to the Glencoe-Silver Lake Early Childhood Learning Center!
Encouraging and supporting families to grow
The Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC) is located on the west side of the GSL main school campus at Door 18 (1621 16th St. E., Glencoe, MN 55336). There are several early childhood programs housed at the ECLC:
- Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) - ECFE is for all families with children age 0-5 years (kindergarten entry). ECFE offers classes, special events, and other programs designed to give parents information, resources, and skills that support their children’s growth and development from birth to kindergarten and beyond. Parents and children attend programs together. ECFE is here to support new parents, veteran parents, and everyone in between!
- School Readiness Preschool - GSL School Readiness Preschool offers half-day programming for children ages three and four years by September 1. We maintain a Four Star Parent Aware rating (highest possible) which means we have demonstrated use of practices that best prepare your children for kindergarten. We participate in continuous professional development to go above and beyond educational and health/safety requirements.
- Early Childhood Screening (ECS) - Early Childhood Screening is a free and simple check of how your child is growing, developing, and learning. It is recommended for children between the ages of three and four years. Children need to successfully complete screening only one time before kindergarten.
- Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) - ECSE provides special education services to children from ages birth to kindergarten who show developmental delay in the general areas of cognitive skills, communication, large and fine motor skills, adaptive/self-help skills, social-emotional behavior and/or have vision or hearing losses. Evaulations and services are provided to eligible students at no cost to families.
