How do I find out if my child is eligible for Early Intervention or Early Childhood Special Education Services?
If you have concerns or suspect delays in your child’s development, you can request an educational evaluation, provided by the GSL school district at no direct cost to your family. You may contact GSL ECSE staff directly by email at: gslecse@gsl.k12.mn.us. You may also contact Help Me Grow by calling 1-866-693-GROW (4769) or by making an online referral.
What if my child qualifies for special services?
After a child receives a formal evaluation to identify her/his specific needs, GSL ESCE teachers and specialists will work with the parents and child. From birth through age two years, these Special Education services are delivered to the child primarily in his/her home or child care center. From age three years to kindergarten, children generally receive these services at the GSL Early Childhood Learning Center.
